The kind-hearted cop offers a ride to two lucky pups.
A kind-hearted Massachusetts cop tracked down the families of two lucky canines after posting adorable selfies -- or "dog-fies" -- with them on Facebook.
Officer Evan Lavigne with the Taunton Police Department offered the two pooches a ride in his police cruiser after he received a call about two loose dogs found wandering in the streets.

Both dogs were rescued at different times and locations but were both welcomed with a smile and a tasty bag of Slim Jims.
“The first dog that I ended up getting in the back of my car was stuck inside a bank,” Lavigne told InsideEdition.com. “The manager locked him inside because people are typically scared of that breed of dog.”

According to Officer Lavigne, the second pup rescued was tied up in a convenience store. Although the dog was friendly and approachable, customers were still afraid to go inside, Lavigne said.
Lavigne was called to the scene and decided to give the dog a ride. He called the local animal control who helped care for the dogs while their owners were located.
The selfies were posted to the police department's Facebook page, where the owners commented on the images.
“With the second dog, he went right in the back of the car and animal control was already on the way so we kind of just hung out in the parking lot,” said Lavigne.
Due to the kindness of the force's new dog whisperer, the two pups are now safe with their grateful families.
