The 4-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay Z wore a flowing dress that made her look and feel like a princess.

Her proud mother posted images of the girl to her Instagram.

Complementing the ensemble was a 3D gold metallic bodice and $565 sneakers. And, of course, no red carpet frock is complete without a diamond tiara.

It wasn’t all glitz and glamor for Beyonce. There was a controversial moment during her performance at the event as her dancers fell one-by-one in a pool of red light, representing victims of gun violence.

Beyonce also invited and appeared with the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and Oscar Grant, whose sons were killed in racially-charged incidents.

Nicki Minaj and beau Meek Mill hit the white carpet together, with the former rocking an extremely revealing blue gown.

Britney Spears made her return to the VMA stage after 9 years. She sported a yellow-green glittered leotard with matching boots. The 34-year-old received jeers for lip-syncing her way through her performance.

But on the white carpet she wore a black dress that had everyone’s head turning.

Drake was late to the VMAs after being stuck in New York City traffic. He presented Rihanna, a rumored love interest, the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

"She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” he said while presenting the award.

When she took the stage, Drake went in for a kiss, but Rihanna kept fans guessing about their relationship by turning her head slightly, resulting in an awkward moment.
