Delaney Robinson, 19, claims police told linebacker Allen Artis, 21, "not to sweat it" after she accused him of raping her on Valentine's Day.
A University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill student has accused a star football player of rape this week, choosing to make her allegations public because she says police did not take her claims seriously for months.
Delaney Robinson, 19, appealed directly to a magistrate during a press conference Tuesday with claims sophomore linebacker Allen Artis, 21, had sex with her on Valentine's Day while she was incapacitated and unable to give consent.

"I did everything a rape victim is supposed to do," Robinson told reporters Tuesday. "I reported it. I allowed the rape kit to be taken. I gave a statement. I cooperated with law enforcement and the Title IX office.
"But six months later, the University has done nothing."
In North Carolina, a person may individually pursue misdemeanor charges if the magistrate deems there is probable cause.
Robinson's attorney, Denise Branch, said the decision to make a so-called self-sworn affidavit came as a "result of the Orange County District Attorney's refusal to prosecute the case, despite sufficient physical evidence."
According to Branch, that evidence included bruises on Robinson's neck and "blunt force trauma to [Robinson's] genital area" but authorities still failed to act.
"I was treated like a suspect. My humiliation turned to rage when I watched the recorded interview of my rapist by DPS investigators," Robinson said. "They provided reassurances to him when he became upset... Even laughed with him when he told them how many girls' phone numbers he had managed to get on the same night that he raped me."
Robinson said police asked her questions about what she was wearing on the night of the alleged rape, if she led the athlete on, how often she has one-night stands and other questions about her sexual history.
While the magistrate issued an arrest warrant for Artis, he has not been charged by law enforcement. According to Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall, that's because the UNC campus police investigation was still ongoing.
"They were pursuing a higher burden of proof" than is needed for a misdemeanor, Woodall told InsideEdition.com.

While perhaps atypical, Woodall said the months-long investigation that has Thompson feeling left out in the cold is not excessive in connection with an investigation for an allegation involving a felony.
"I don't think that for the level of crime and seriousness of crime, I don't think that amount of time is excessive," he said, adding that "it takes a substantial amount of evidence" and that some "lab work is still pending."
Meanwhile, Artis turned himself in Wednesday and was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
At a subsequent court hearing, at which Artis did not appear, the court date was set as September 29.
Artis has been suspended indefinitely from the football team per a school rule regarding players charged with misdemeanors.
