A new Lifetime movie tells the story of a brave mother who rescued her son from South Korea after he was kidnapped by her ex-husband. INSIDE EDITION has the touching story.
A new Lifetime movie features actress Taraji P. Henson as a mother in a real-life kidnapping nightmare.
The movie, Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story, is based on the true story of a mother from New York whose 6-year-old son was abducted by his father and taken to South Korea.
Incredibly she flew all the way to South Korea, where she pulled off a daring rescue.
"One minute I was hopeless, and the next minute, I was like, 'No, he is not going to win, there is no way,' " mother Tiffany Rubin tells INSIDE EDITION.
Rubin says it wasn't easy convincing her rugged little boy to dress like a girl in pink clothes so she could sneak him out of the country.
"He saw the pink and he was like, 'Uh-uh, I'm not putting that on!' " she says.
Miraculously Rubin pulled off her mission.
Taraji Henson says she has total respect for the real woman she portrayed.
"I was like, 'Yeah I would've done the same thing, I wouldn't have stopped until I had my baby back in my arms,' " said Henson.
Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story and a documentary about Tiffany Rubin airs on Lifetime on January 31st.
