Police called 22-year-old Baylie Lecolst and 24-year-old Amber Giordano “highly intoxicated” when they were found with their 1-month-old and 4-month old babies in a mall parking lot in Salem — one of them holding their baby in the air while lying in a puddle, police said.
A Salem officer working a detail at the mall was alerted to two drunk women with small children, according to information shared by police. Police said the women were "barely able to stand, let alone care for the infants."
Both admitted to drinking, police said.
Lecolst and Giordano were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
They were released on personal recognizance bail and are scheduled to be arraigned in 10th Circuit Court at the end of October.
