A man is on the loose after he escaped from a mental hospital in San Antonio.
A man who dismembered his estranged wife more than two decades ago has escaped from a mental hospital for the second time in 10 years.
Gary Charles Ligon, 62, slipped out from the San Antonio hospital — where he's been since he was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the 1990 murder of Becky Ligon — over the weekend.

Ligon first escaped from the maximum security hospital “a few years ago,” according to Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer. Police found him a few days later.
Hierholzer, who investigated the original killing of Ligon’s wife, said the man is dangerous, considering the nature and severity of his past acts.
Hierholzer said some of Becky Ligon's family members called police in 1990 and reported her missing. The sheriff’s office then found traces of blood inside the ex-couple’s house.
After searching the area, they recovered the woman’s body parts in plastic trash bags.
After the killing, Ligon reportedly fled to Iowa and residents called the police on him for "acting weird," according to Hierholzer.

“When I interviewed him back then, he could be very explosive and violent but other times he just seemed confused and didn’t know what was going on,” said Hierholzer. “He committed the murder but was insane.”
Hierholzer urged the need to get Ligon back into custody.
