Melania Says Trump Was 'Egged On' by Billy Bush as NBC Cuts Ties With Host

Melania Trump blamed George W. and Jeb's cousin Billy for her husband's lewd talk on Access Hollywood in 2005.

Melania Trump doesn't blame her husband for lewd comments he made shortly after their marriage on an Access Hollywood bus.

Instead, she blames Billy Bush.

In a sit-down interview with CNN, Mrs. Trump told Anderson Cooper the Republican nominee was "egged on" by the TV personality cousin of George W. and Jeb to say "dirty and bad stuff" while wearing a mic in 2005.

The same day Melania Trump's interview aired, NBC announced the network has cut ties with Bush.

"Billy Bush will be leaving the TODAY show’s 9 a.m. hour, effective today. While he was a new member of the TODAY team, he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family. We wish him success as he goes forward," NBC employees were told in a memo Monday.

In his own statement, Bush said: "I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead."

On the 2005 tape, Trump admits he once tried to seduce Nancy O'Dell, who was then Bush's co-host on Access Hollywood and is now co-host of Entertainment Tonight.

"I'll admit it. I did try and f*** her. She was married. I moved on her very heavily. I moved on her like a b****. But I couldn't get there. And she was married," he said. "And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

In a subsequent apology, Trump characterized the comments as "locker room" talk.

In her interview this week, Melania Trump appeared to agree with that characterization and called her husband's words "boy talk."

Mrs. Trump also defended the billionaire against statements made by multiple women accusing her husband of sexual misconduct over the years.

"I believe my husband. I believe my husband," she told Cooper. "This was all organized from the opposition. And with the details... did they ever check the background of these women? They don't have any facts."
