It was a real life "Headbangers Ball."
Two elderly German men escaped from their nursing home, proving you are never too old to rock out after being found at the world’s biggest heavy metal festival, according to cops.
The two men reportedly escaped their nursing home Friday to attend the Wacken Open Air Festival last week, police said. The four-day music bonanza is the world’s largest heavy metal festival, taking place each year in Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
The men were found early Saturday morning at 3 a.m. The men were “disoriented and dazed,” and reluctant to leave, cops said.
Officers were eventually able to persuade the men to leave and they were escorted away with the help of a taxi and patrol car, according to a police spokeswoman.
"They obviously liked the metal festival," police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld told public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, adding, "The care home quickly organized a return transport after police picked them up."
The festival, now in its 29th year, saw more than 75,000 fans rocking out to the likes of Danzig, Judas Priest, Ghost, Hatebreed, In Flames, Converge and Solstafir from Thursday through Sunday.
