Brazilian Soccer Player Killed in Plane Crash Found Out He Was Going to Be a Dad a Week Ago

A video of the moment Tiago da Rocha Vieira learned his wife was pregnant was posted to social media Tuesday as a tribute to him.

The heartwarming moment a Brazilian soccer player learned he was going to be dad has turned tragic after it was revealed he was among the victims of the Colombia plane crash that left 70 others dead.

The video of Tiago da Rocha Vieira, also known as Tiaguinho, was reportedly captured by his teammates in a hotel just last week and today was posted to social media as a tribute to him.

His wife, Graziele, wanted to surprise her husband and enlisted the help of his teammates to send him a message and a gift, according to reports.

In the video, which has now been widely shared, Tiaguinho, 22, reads the note inside a bag and quickly jumps up and dances along with his teammates and shouts with joy.

The striker was on the chartered aircraft carrying Chapecoense Real, a first division team that departed from Bolivia and crashed in Cerro Gordo at about 10 p.m. Monday.

The British Aerospace 146 short-haul plane reportedly declared an emergency and lost radar contact due to an electrical failure, aviation authorities said.

Goalkeepers Marcos Danilo Padilha and Jackson Follmann survived the crash, as did a Bolivian flight attendant and a member of the team's delegation. But Danilo Padilha later died while receiving treatment, upping the death toll to 71.

Brazil has declared three days of mourning for those killed.
