Lyvette Crespo, 45, pleaded guilty to a voluntary manslaughter charge.
The wife of a slain California mayor has been sentenced to just three months jail time in his killing.
Under a plea deal, Lyvette Crespo will serve 90 days after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of late Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo.

She will also have to serve five years of formal probation and complete 500 hours of community service and attend an anger management course after shooting her husband three times in their home two years ago.
Daniel Crespo Sr., 45, was shot to death on September 30, 2014 amid what authorities characterized as a dispute over his infidelity.
The Crespos' son, then 19, had tried to intervene during the dispute. He called 911 and told a dispatcher through tears that his mother "was defending herself" and was not at fault.
Lyvette Crespo later claimed she had been the victim of domestic violence for years, CBS LA reports.
Mrs. Crespo took the plea deal after initially rejecting it in favor of a no contest plea. But after the prosecutor insisted on a guilty plea, Crespo eventually took the deal on the advice of her attorney.
Crespo faced a possible 21-year sentence and a mandatory 10-year term for using a firearm if she had gone to trial and been convicted.
"She should plead guilty to what she did," Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman told reporters outside court. "The factual basis is that she shot him three times in the chest."
One of her attorneys, Roger Lowenstein, disagreed.

"Lyvette Crespo is innocent. This is a self-defense case," Lowenstein said. "He tortured [her] for 28 years."
Crespo was indicted in April 2015 on the voluntary manslaughter charge.
