Elizabeth Snyder, 25, took to Facebook to share an adorable yet heart-wrenching photo of her 2-year-old son Malachi cuddled up with two bears.
“Malachi is just 2 years old so he doesn’t fully comprehend what the bears are, but he does recognize them as his daddy’s uniform,” Snyder told InsideEdition.com.
Blake, 33, was shot and killed in the line-of-duty when responding to a call about a disturbance in early October.
One of the bears has a patch with Blake’s police identification number stitched in.
Before leaving for his shifts, Snyder said Blake would always say “love you buddy” to Malachi and that phrase is also stitched into one of the bears' feet.
Snyder said when Malachi received the bears he hugged them and said “bears” and then after said “daddy.”
She believes he made the association that the bears were made from his dad’s uniform.

“It was heartbreaking but amazing at the same time. The bears are a great sentiment. It means a lot,” Snyder said. “Once he gets older I’ll explain the story in full detail to and he’ll really full understand it. The bears are really important to us. We’ll always have them.”
In the aftermath of Blake’s death, Snyder said they are going through a big adjustment.
“I couldn’t stay in the house so we are in process of moving,” said Snyder. We are still taking it one day at a time. We are making it.”
