Donald Trump’s senior advisor has defended her boss’ decision to hang on as executive producer of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, which Trump hosted until he decided to run for president.
Kellyanne Conway told CNN Friday: “Presidents have a right to do things in their spare time or their leisure time.”

She added: “Work is his work and work his hobby.”
The latest season of the popular reality game show will air in February with Arnold Schwarzenegger taking the reins as boss, and in the actor’s case, "terminating" employees.
NBC cut ties with Trump after June 2015 remarks perceived as racist when he announced he was running for president. But he will remain the show's executive producer of the forthcoming season while working out of the Oval Office.
In the interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, Conway called the real estate mogul “a very transparent guy” and added: “Everyone can see what he’s doing and the fact is that he is with all types of experts who tell him what he can do and not do as president of the United States. If this is one of the approved activities, then he will consider staying on.”
Conway then told Camerota that it is “doubtful” Trump would be collecting a salary from the executive producer role.

“He has already talked about how he will not keep the salary for president of the United States,” Conway said.
She then added that they have not discussed collecting royalties from NBC for Celebrity Apprentice, but she hinted he could donate his earnings to charity like he said he would do with his White House salary.
