The pair was visiting a friend's house.
A father has been killed and his 4-year-old son critically injured while sledding in a Maryland driveway over the weekend.
Adam French, 35, and his son were sledding down a friend’s driveway in Baltimore Sunday morning when the sled they were riding on slid into the road and they were struck by a Jeep, according to police.

Both were rushed to the hospital, where French was pronounced dead.
Family said French saved his son's life.
"My grandson said it just got going so fast, it got out of control because of ice, and he tried to stop it, but he couldn't stop it," Daniel Brown, French's father-in-law told WBAL. "He (saw) there was going to be an impact with the vehicle, he covered the baby up to protect him, and as the impact occurred, he pushed the baby out of the way."
The 4-year-old boy was listed in critical condition but is expected to recover, according to reports.
"He definitely saved his son's life. The man lost his life being a hero, he really did. He definitely lost his life being a hero," Brown added.
