Debbie Reynolds Dies at 84, One Day After Daughter Carrie Fisher's Death: 'I Want to Be With Carrie'

Debbie Reynolds has been taken to hospital just a day after her daughter passed away, according to a report.

Legendary entertainer Debbie Reynolds has died, just one day after the death of her daughter, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher.

Reynolds, a star of stage and screen in the 1950s and 60s, was pronounced dead Wednesday after the 84-year-old was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after complaining of breathing problems, TMZ reported.

She was reportedly at her son Todd Fisher's Beverly Hills home when she suffered a stroke while making arrangements for the funeral of her daughter, who passed away at age 60 on Tuesday.

The Star Wars actress had suffered a massive heart attack while on a flight from London to Los Angeles last Friday. She died Tuesday.

Todd Fisher told The Associated Press that the death of his sister "was too much" on their mother.

"She said, 'I want to be with Carrie,' and then she was gone," Fisher told The AP.

Reynolds broke her silence about her daughter's death on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon.

"Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter," she wrote. "I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop."

Reynolds, who soared to fame with 1952's "Singin' in the Rain," gave birth to Fisher in 1956, her first of two children with singer Eddie Fisher.
