A car wound up floating in a Florida swimming pool after its driver told police she had swerved to avoid a raccoon.
The shocking crash occurred Tuesday when residents of a Miami Beach apartment complex reported hearing a loud crash before a vehicle came crashing into a pool where several people were swimming.

"It sounded like a thunder crash," witness Carlos Bamrud told WSVN. "This is the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this."
According to a Miami Beach PD incident report, the vehicle swerved off the road before crashing into a fence and ultimately wound up in the pool, where it sank to the bottom.
None of the swimmers in the pool were injured.

Photos taken after the 11 p.m. incident show the pool littered with debris — and the car floating in it.
The two occupants of the vehicle refused to be taken to a hospital.
