Vicente Roldan-Marron is accused of hacking his wife to death with a butcher knife.
A Missouri father was accused Monday of murdering his wife after their children told their teachers that he'd stabbed her to death.
Police in Independence arrested Vicente Roldan-Marron, 46, after two of his three children disclosed that their father had killed their mother, Yadira Gomez, at their home.

The couple's 9-year-old son told police that his mother and father had argued after going to church on Sunday, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor.
When they started to fight, the boy said he and the other children went downstairs. Then he told cops he heard his father yelling, "Why did I do that?” and “It was really dumb."
The child went upstairs, where he recalled seeing his mother on the bedroom floor covered in blood with a large knife next to her.
The children later woke up the father and asked him to take them to school, at which point authorities say the children told their teacher what had happened.
When questioned, the defendant reportedly told police he had blacked out after drinking and taking pills. He said he must have killed his wife but he didn't remember the incident.
Roldan-Marron faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Meanwhile, the Independence community is raising funds to make the children more comfortable following their terrible trauma.
“The children were witness to a portion of this,” said Officer Luis Virgil told the Kansas City Star. “You know that these children just witnessed something that no one would be able to deal with even as adults.”
Virgil said area authorities began filling a candy jar with donations for the kids. By Wednesday, police department employees chipped in more than $1,400.
An area Best Buy has also donated three Android tablets for the children as other members of the community donated grocery gift cards, food, clothing, toys, movie passes, new mattresses and money for funeral expenses. The apartment complex also reportedly moved the family into a newer and bigger unit.

An online fundraiser has also been created to help the family. On the YouCaring site, the group Corey's Network is asking for donations to help Yadira Gomez's parents financially as they take custody of the young children.
"She was very family oriented. She was close to her mother, and was with her as often as time would allow. Her mother and father moved to Independence just five months ago to be close to her and her children. Now Mr. and Mrs. Gomez-Calderon are going to raise their grandchildren in the wake of this disaster," the organizer wrote.
