Her 4-month-old son was not harmed in the incident.
A pregnant California woman was shot dead as she lay in bed next to her sleeping infant son, police said.
Amber Baker, 20, was shot early Sunday in her Central Fresno apartment that she shared with her sister Cassie Baker and three others, according to reports.
Her 4-month-old son, Ayden, was not harmed in the incident.
Baker, who was about seven weeks pregnant with her second child, was shot in the upper body, KFSN-TV reported. The child did not survive.
Several people were at the apartment for a party at the time of the shooting, officials said.
Cassie Baker told the Fresno Bee that she had been at the party, but left after an argument with her sister.

A roommate found her body, Cassie Baker told the Fresno Bee.
“Who would want to do this to her?” she asked as she attended a vigil near their home.
Baker had recently received a tax refund and bought a car the night before she was shot, her family said.
“And the only thing I can think of is that everybody could see that she had money. Everybody knew she got her taxes back,” Cassie Baker told KFSN-TV. “Honestly, that's the only thing I can think of because my sister was just too nice. She was too kindhearted, she loved everyone."
Police responded to the scene at Griffith Garden apartments at about 6 a.m.
Ayden is now with his father, her family said.
Loved ones were stunned by the young mother’s grisly death.

“It's not fair that this happened to such a beautiful and loving girl. I was looking forward to seeing her grow up and develop into everything she wanted to be,” a friend wrote on Facebook.
“Amber had a zest for life, her smile was contagious. She brought laughter and smiles to all,” a GoFundMe page created in her memory said.
By Thursday, the page had raised $1,940 of its $10,000 goal.
Police have been questioning those who were in the apartment at the time Baker was killed.
Officials have reportedly not ruled out gang involvement and the case remains under investigation.
