30-year-old Abbie Maldonado was charged after her toddler shot through the window of her car.
A Florida mom faces charges after cops say her toddler got hold of her loaded gun and fired off a round while allegedly left alone in a parked car.
According to Volusia County Sheriff's Office officials, Abbie Maldonado of Deltona had her 3-year-old boy with her Monday when she drove to the Good Shepherd Academy to pick up her son from school.

Maldonado got out to walk around with other parents and left the boy unsecured in the back of the vehicle, she reportedly told police.
With the back door propped open so she could keep an eye on the child, Maldonado said she suddenly heard a loud bang, police said.
However, the mother said she didn't realize it was a gunshot when she returned to the vehicle and took the boy into the school to go to the bathroom, according to police.
It was when she returned to her vehicle that Maldonado heard the sound of glass crackling and realized the front driver’s side window was shattered, cops say.
Police say the 3-year-old child got his hands on the loaded gun and fired a bullet that shattered a window and was found lodged in a door frame.
After checking the child for injuries, Maldonado went inside to report the incident to the school, which then reported it to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in a 911 call.
"Nobody’s hurt, but we had a parent that has a concealed weapon permit and a child got a hold of it and pulled the trigger," the caller said.
Police arrived at 3:45 p.m. After investigating the circumstances, they arrested Maldonado on a felony charge of child neglect.

Deputies say Maldonado told them she normally keeps the gun locked in the trunk. Her boyfriend responded to the scene to pick up the children.
Maldonado posted a $2,500 bond and was released Monday night. She's due to be arraigned in a Volusia County court April 12.
