Griffin faced intense backlash from both sides of the political aisle after the image was published late Tuesday.
President Trump’s family has fired back at the now-notorious image of comedian Kathy Griffin holding what appears to be the bloodied, decapitated head of the commander in chief.
Griffin faced intense backlash from both sides of the political aisle after the image was published late Tuesday. Among her detractors were CNN’s Anderson Cooper, the first lady and the president himself.

The rebukes continued Wednesday night as Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law and wife of Eric Trump, blasted the My Life on the D-List star.
“There were a lot of people around that could have said, 'You know what? This crosses a line,'" she told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
She added: “I think what is not acceptable is that people do things like what Kathy Griffin did, that there are people out there that would rather see our president fail rather than see our country succeed.
"And it’s very dangerous and we live in a very, very dangerous place right now and it’s very frightening to all of us."
Additional blowback came when Donald Trump Jr. lashed out at former Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings for targeting 11-year-old Barron Trump, who reportedly thought something terrible had happened to his dad when he saw the Griffin photo, and reportedly screamed out, "Mommy! Mommy!"

“Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster. He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking," Jennings tweeted Wednesday.

The tweet drew a response from Donald Trump Jr., who fired back: “It takes a real man to pick on an 11-year-old. Yet another low from the left, but they will rationalize this away with their usual excuses.”

Jennings was undeterred as he responded, “I will kill as many white rhinos as it takes to prove my masculinity to Donald Trump Jr.,” a reference to photos showing President Trump’s eldest son hunting big game in Africa.
Griffin, meanwhile, was quick to apologize for the photo, but it was too late for her regular co-hosting job on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special, a gig she’s had for 10 years.
