There was no stopping Bette Midler Sunday night at the Tony Awards as she took home her first competitive award at the ceremony.

The legendary entertainer was accepting her first Tony for her performance in the revival of Hello Dolly! on Broadway, when the orchestra started playing over her after two minutes.
The music, an obvious cue to "wrap it up," had no effect on Midler.
“Shut that crap off!” she exclaimed as she spoke over her allowed time. “I have so many people to thank!”
The audience inside Radio City Music Hall were delighted by her speech and erupted in laughter as she yelled at the orchestra.

During her speech, which lasted four minutes and 15 seconds, she joked: “I want to thank the Tony voters, many of whom I’ve actually dated.”
