Trey Goodnight, 27, and Jeremy Irvin, 31, were taken into custody early Wednesday.
Two of the four inmates who escaped from an Oklahoma jail were captured early Wednesday after they were spotted by fishermen, officials said.
Trey Goodnight, 27, and Jeremy Irvin, 31, were taken into custody after they were “pinned down in the area north of Highway 270 between the Dale railroad track and Bethel Road,” the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department said.
Pottawatomie County deputies reportedly heard crashing in the woods along the North Canadian River before spotting the pair. They then took off into the water but were apprehended as a helicopter hovered above, Sheriff Michael Booth told reporters.
They were taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

Goodnight and Irvin, who is facing a first-degree murder charge, were traveling together.
The pair, along with Brian Moody, 23, and Sonny Baker, 41, escaped the Lincoln County Jail through a ventilation system.
“They get up on top of that and they’re able to jump over to an air vent,” Sheriff Charles Dougherty told reporters in Chandler Monday.
Contractors were being contacted to fix that gap, which runs the length of the jail, he said.

After escaping, the men were believed to have stolen a red pickup and a white truck from neighboring homes.
Law enforcement officials launched into a massive manhunt after the escape, as they closed the highway and conducted door-to-door searches in an effort to find the men.
Moody and Baker — who remain on the loose — as well as Goodnight, were all in jail facing charges for property crimes.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 and warned not to approach the prisoners.
