Elliot Stephanopoulos is forced to wear a back brace to straighten out her spine.
George Stephanopoulos has revealed his 14-year-old daughter's struggle with scoliosis.
The Good Morning America co-host and his wife, actress Ali Wentworth, tweeted a photo collage showing their daughter on vacation, wearing her back brace over her clothes.
“So proud of my daughter, Elliott. Wearing brace every day,” he wrote.

Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that can be treated with the brace, which straightens out the backbone.
Evin Fox knows what Elliot Stephanopoulos is going through — the 55-year-old college professor has scoliosis and wore a similar brace under her clothes from ages 12 to 18.
“You wear it 24 hours unless you're showering or in a swimming pool,” she told Inside Edition. “I was worried about how I would fit in with my friends and so I thought, ‘By golly, I’m not going to worry about it,’ and I became a cheerleader and did horseback riding and I even did gymnastics with my brace on — I mean, it looked funny, but I didn't care.”
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rene Russo and Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt all have scoliosis, proving the GMA host’s daughter can live a very full life.

Twitter users are praising Elliot Stephanopoulos' courage as the photo went public in June, which is National Scoliosis Month.
“She's a fighter," Fox said. "She reminds me of me, she had a gleam in her eye that tells me she's gonna be cool and she's gonna be great with this."
