Matthew Howard was clearly at the right place in the right time.
The brave dad who caught a 14-year-old girl after she dangled off a ride at a Six Flags amusement park in New York over the weekend fought back tears as he recalled the harrowing rescue.

“I yelled up, 'Let go!' and she let go,” Matthew Howard emotionally told Inside Edition as he described the scene at Six Flags Great Escape over the weekend. "God dropped an angel."
The unidentified 14-year-old was on the Sky Ride Saturday when the operator got word someone was in distress, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
The girl's terrified little brother was screaming for help.
Howard and his daughter stood just below the girl as she hung on for dear life.
Loren Lent recorded the heart-stopping drama on his cell phone.
“What her brother was screaming really got me. 'I can’t pull her back up. Her head is stuck,'" Lent recalled.
The ride, a slow cruise overlooking the park, is not supposed to be frightening.
Each chair has a safety bar. Somehow the teen slipped under the bar and was left hanging by her neck 25-feet above the ground.
“When she released, I just braced my body,” Howard said.
“She landed right here on my father's chest which knocked them both down," his daughter said. "I reached out to catch her."

Howard and the girl were knocked out cold, but only for a moment. They were both taken to a hospital.
“She was smiling, sitting up in bed," Howard's daughter said. "She's fine. She's in good spirits."
