Comedian Bill Murray's toast to the Chicago Cubs at the 25th ESPY Awards left him a bloodied mess, according to witnesses.

The long-time Cubs fan presented the World Series champs with the Best Sports Moment in 2016 trophy Wednesday night. The Cubs won the Series last year after an 108-year drought.
Murray used a super sharp saber to open a bottle of champagne but the stunt may have gone awry. According to reports, he may have badly cut himself.
There's no word from his rep on whether the actor sought treatment for the reported injury.
Opening champagne with a saber can be difficult and dangerous. Inside Edition went to Black Barn Restaurant in New York City, where Chef John Doherty showed how it's done safely.
He said to "hold the bottle firmly at the base" and slide the sword across the seam. It should take the top off. He added that the bottle should not be pointed at anyone.
The ESPYS were hosted by football great Peyton Manning who used his moment on stage to poke fun at NBA champ Kevin Durant.
The former football star made a joke about Durant’s move to Golden State from Oklahoma City last summer, which resulted in the player’s first championship trophy.
“Our gymnastics team was so dominant that Kevin Durant wants to play for them next year,” Manning said.
The room laughed but Durant stared down Manning.

Now reports indicate that Durant was in on the joke.
Former first lady Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance at the show and presented the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to Timothy Shriver on behalf of his late mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who founded the Special Olympics.
"She is the type of woman that mom would have loved," Maria Shriver told Inside Edition of Mrs. Obama.

Other winners of the night included Durant, Olympian Simone Biles, soccer star David Villa, LeBron James, Usain Bolt and Serena Williams.
