The pair, from two elite universities, is considered armed and dangerous.
A pair from two prestigious universities on two different continents is on the run after a murder in Illinois, according to authorities.
Chicago police believe a Northwestern University faculty member and an Oxford University staffer were involved in the July 27 murder of 26-year-old man who was found stabbed to death at the Cook County home of associate professor of microbiology and immunology, Wyndham Lathem.

Now Lathem, 42, and 56-year-old Andrew Warren, a senior treasury assistant at the University of Oxford's Somerville College, are believed to be armed, dangerous and on the run from first-degree murder charges.
The duo is wanted after the body of Trenton H. James Cornell-Duranleau was allegedly found in Lathem's luxury apartment.
The body was found after someone reportedly called the front desk and said, “There may have been a crime committed in Room 1004. You need to check it out," according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
It was an eerie start to what has become a multi-day manhunt.
On Thursday afternoon, Chicago police said the manhunt was narrowing by the hour. Police urge civilians who encounter the suspects to "use extreme caution" if they are located
“We know where they might be, and we have more information coming in,” the Chicago PD's chief communications officer Anthony Guglielmi said.
Guglielmi said investigators believe Lathem and Cornell-Duranleau, a hairstylist, lived together at Lathem's home.

Authorities said they believe Lathem and Warren have fled Illinois, but their passports have been frozen.
"The search for them will only intensify,” Guglielmi said. “They should do the right thing and turn themselves in to any police station. It’s only a matter of time.”
