Singer Sinead O’Connor appeared distraught and in the throes of a mental breakdown as she took to social media Monday evening, pleading for help.

“I'm all by myself," she said in the video posted from a New Jersey motel. "I've absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor. My entire life is revolving around just not dying and that's not living!”
She claims she has been abandoned by her family and friends.
“I love the people that are doing this to me," she said. "I am not staying alive for me. If it was me, I’d be gone — straight away back to my mom."
The video came after the 50-year-old Irish singer checked into a Travelodge Motel in South Hackensack, N.J.
Twenty-five years ago, she gained worldwide infamy when she tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II on Saturday Night Live in an effort to protest the Catholic Church’s cover-up of sexual abuse.
She has been married four times and has four children. She says she has suffered from mental illness for years and is now leading a nomadic existence.
In 2015, she posted a suicide note on Facebook where she said: “I've taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect.”
A year later, she had been reported missing from her home outside Chicago. She was later found safe.

"I don't want to die I want to stay alive," she said in her latest video. "I want to stay alive.”
The clip has been viewed more than a million times, and some frantic fans have even called police to make sure she's safe.
Someone concerned that she wasn't eating ordered food from a local deli and had it delivered to her room.
Inside Edition found her PT Cruiser with Illinois plates still parked at the motel Tuesday, but she had checked out. One report said she was hospitalized. Another said a friend picked her up.
"She is safe and receiving the best of care," a statement on her Facebook page said Tuesday.
