The suspects' undoing began when they allegedly burglarized a Port Orange home as its owner slept overnight last Thursday, officials said.
A crime spree came to an end for a pair of alleged thieves when one of their victims used his stolen iPad’s tracking feature to lead authorities to the teenage suspects’ dumping grounds in Florida, cops said.
The suspects’ undoing began when they allegedly burglarized a Port Orange home as its owner slept last Thursday, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
When the homeowner woke at about 5:30 a.m. that day, he immediately noticed his Corvette convertible, Chevrolet Silverado and a shotgun were missing.
Surveillance cameras inside the home captured two unknown people — one armed — moving inside the home and at one point even entering the bedroom where the victim had been sleeping, officials said.

“You’ve got a [suspect] entering the house — that’s the way we enter a house when we serve a search warrant!" Sheriff Mike Chitwood said of the security footage, which he said showed an armed juvenile walking through the house with a gun drawn. "Weapon out, clearing the rooms... He knew somebody was in that home. And God forbid if the guy woke up... Somebody's getting shot. I have no doubt in my mind, somebody's getting shot.”
Cameras outside the home also showed the victim’s Corvette and Chevrolet being pulled out of the driveway, police said.
It was later discovered that three vehicles down the road were also burglarized, with a revolver stolen from one of them.
The victim later realized an iPad mini was among the other items taken from the home and used its “Find My iPhone” feature to track the device to a hotel in Daytona Beach, cops said.
Detectives from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the Daytona Beach Shores Department found the stolen Corvette at the hotel, where they sat in wait and spotted five people pull up in a white Hyundai that had also been reported stolen, officials said.
The five people were taken into custody as they later tried leaving the hotel.

Police allegedly found that 19-year-old Kelly Shaw, was armed with a concealed semi-automatic handgun, and a 14-year-old boy had a concealed semi-automatic handgun.
The three other individuals were later released.
Items from the Port Orange burglary were allegedly found in the hotel room, while investigators said they uncovered the stolen shotgun inside one of the cars.
Police also found a .44 magnum that had been stolen from New Smyma Beach.
Shaw was charged with armed burglary of an occupied dwelling, three counts of grand theft auto, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Shaw made his first court appearance Friday at the Volusia County Jail, where a judge denied him bond. He remained in Volusia County Jail on Monday.
The 14-year-old boy was charged with one count of grand theft auto, possession of a firearm by a minor and carrying a concealed firearm.
