Suspect Showed Boyfriend Baby She Said Was Theirs on Day Pregnant Woman Disappeared: Prosecutors

Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind was eight months pregnant when she vanished.

A North Dakota woman arrested in connection with the death of her pregnant neighbor allegedly presented her boyfriend with a baby she said was theirs on the same day the expectant mother vanished, court documents show.

William Henry Hoehn, 32, told police he arrived home to find his girlfriend, 38-year-old Brooke Lyn Crews, cleaning up blood in the bathroom of apartment No. 5 at 2825 9th St. N, around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 19, according to court documents.

Crews then brought out an infant baby girl, who she claimed was theirs, Hoehn told cops.

“This is our baby, this is our family,” Crews allegedly said.

An hour earlier, the mother of Hoehn and Crews’ neighbor, Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind called police to report her daughter missing.

LaFontaine-Greywind was eight months pregnant, her mother explained, saying her daughter told her she was going to her neighbor’s apartment to model a dress the neighbor was sewing.

The 22-year-old mom-to-be was never heard from again.

Five days later, police executing a search warrant found an infant child in the home of Crews and Hoehn.

DNA testing is being conducted to confirm the baby is LaFontaine-Greywind’s, but in interviews with detectives, Crews and Hoehn allegedly admitted the baby was the daughter of the missing woman.

Hoehn reportedly told cops he threw out garbage bags containing bloody towels and his own bloody shoes after telling investigators what his girlfriend said.

Crews claimed in her interview with police that LaFontaine-Greywind came to her apartment to learn how to induce labor on Aug. 19, court documents said.

Crews said LaFontaine-Greywind came back two days later at 3:30 a.m. to give her an infant child, the document said.

She allegedly admitted to police she “had taken advantage of” LaFontaine-Greywind in an attempt to take and possibly keep her child.

Police said Crews also acknowledged she had multiple opportunities to turn the baby over to law enforcement or the Greywind family, but didn’t, knowing full well that LaFontaine-Greywind was missing.

The expectant mother’s body was discovered Sunday in the Red River. She had been encased in plastic bags, police said.

Preliminary results of an autopsy on LaFontaine-Greywind showed the primary cause of death was “homicidal violence,” the West Fargo Pioneer reported.

Crews and Hoehn were charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and falsifying information.

Their bails were each set at $2 million cash.

Crews is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 28. Her attorney had no comment when reached by InsideEdition.com.

Hoehn is due in court on Oct. 4. His attorney has not yet responded to an InsideEdition.com request for comment.
