Teachers were alerted to Emmy Nolan's daughter's tattoo when she wore a strapless dress to a school dance.
A Georgia mom has been charged after her 12-year-old daughter was discovered to have a tattoo, cops say.
The ink reportedly featured a cross that read "Jesus Loves" and was spotted by a fifth grade teacher at Arnco Sargent Elementary in Newnan when the girl wore a strapless dress to her school dance.

When questioned, cops said the girl first told them she was forced to get the tattoo by her father before changing her story to say she got it willingly.
Her mom, 35-year-old Emma Nolan, told investigators that the girl no longer sees her father. Nolan denied having any knowledge of her husband allowing the girl to be tattooed, according to a police affidavit obtained by KMOV.
When questioned, the father reportedly denied his daughter's story and said the girl was tattooed at a Super Bowl party, a story police say was later corroborated by witnesses. The father faces no charges.
Lt. Jason Fetner of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office told the Newnan Times Herald that a woman named Brenda Gaddy later admitted to tattooing the girl, but didn't realize she was so young.
Gaddy told cops the victim's mother was at the Super Bowl party and allegedly gave her permission to tattoo the girl.
The Coweta County Sheriff's Office charged the mother with being a party to the tattooing the body of any person under the age of 18.

Brenda Gaddy has also been charged.
Both suspects were released Friday on a $1,000 bond.
