Freddie Maliwacki Sr., 79, allegedly refused to stop even after police had laid down a spike strip.
An elderly man has been arrested after allegedly taking cops on a high speed chase that left the highway and continued on a New York golf course.
The idyllic silence of Golden Oak Golf Course in Windsor was shattered Monday after police say 79-year-old Freddie Maliwacki was clocked driving down Interstate 81 at 93 mph.

When local sheriff's deputies heard the chase happening on New York State Police radios, they laid a spike strip that blew out Maliwacki's tires but didn't stop him from barreling onward, cops said.
"By the time he got to me he was riding on his front two rims," Rebecca Ellsworth of the Golden Oak Golf Course told InsideEdition.com.
Ellsworth said her course straddles the highway and a river and she believes the suspect thought he was heading down a road and not a golf path.
But by the time that realization hit, it was too late.
Maliwacki was reportedly swarmed by police from multiple jurisdictions and arrested on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
He is currently being held in Broome County Jail without bail.
However, Maliwacki left an impression — on both the since-repaired grass and the Golden Oak staff.

Ellsworth said she is planning to dedicate two of her course's themed holes to the incident at this year's Halloween tournament.
"Somebody found one of the tires," she said. "We're going to use that on one of the holes."
