The chauffeur who told police Naomi Campbell attacked him is now apologizing to the supermodel. INSIDE EDITION reports.
Miodrag Mejdina, the chauffeur who claimed he was beaten by supermodel Naomi Campbell, is now dropping the assault rap and saying it was his fault.
That's right, he's apologizing to Campbell.
The chauffeur lives in a modest house in Queens, New York. The Cadillac Escalade he was driving when Campbell allegedly attacked him is still parked in the driveway. He first told cops Campbell punched him and slammed his head into the steering wheel. But that's not what he's saying now.
"I got angry and overreacted...and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing this to happen," Mejdina said in a statement.
Two hours later, the notoriously ill-tempered supermodel released her own statement: "I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past...I am pleased the driver has apologized."
So what's really going on? The New York Post quotes a police source as saying the driver was "bullied" into apologizing and may have been "paid off to keep his mouth shut."
When asked if his client received a settlement for dropping the case against Campbell, lawyer Earl Ward told INSIDE EDITION, "No comment."
