It's been six months since Mackenzie Phillips made her shocking allegations of a consensual sexual relationship with her late father John Phillips. Now, Mackenzie is coming forward with another revelation – her new $50,000 face. INSIDE EDITIO
Mackenzie Phillips is showing off her new face to the world. Phillips is revealing she just underwent $50,000 worth of cosmetic surgery. And the results are dramatic. She reveals her new look in In Touch magazine.
"How do you feel?" asks INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd.
"I feel great, my life is good, I've never felt this way, I'm 50 years old and I feel like a kid!" says Phillips.
Her makeover began with the acne scars on her cheeks. The facial filler Restylane smoothed out the pock marks, then Botox filled in her crow's feet and the deep lines in her forehead. Next, Phillips underwent extensive and painful dental work. Because she's a recovering addict, Phillips only took Novocain and Advil.
"I'm a recovering drug addict and there's no reason to put yourself in the position where you need to take narcotics," she explains.
Phillips's dentist performed two root canals and bridge work, and gave her veneers, porcelain crowns and fillings. She endured 40 hours, fully conscious, in the dentist's chair.
Phillips believed that decades of drug abuse had taken a toll.
"It's fair to say you were pretty insecure about your appearance over the years, isn't it?" asks Boyd.
"I never felt ugly, I have classically beautiful sisters, I played the older sister of Valerie Bertinelli and we all know how gorgeous Valerie is," she says.
Phillips says she's still dealing with the tension in her family following the publication of her book High on Arrival, in which she claimed she and her father, The Mamas and the Papas frontman John Phillips, had a 10-year incestuous relationship. She says she wrote the book to put her tormented past behind her. Now she has a bright new outlook to go along with her new look.
