She lost her home to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but now she is the winner of the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway! INSIDE EDITION has more.
"I am blown away this is unbelievable!" says Myra Lewis. She just got the surprise of her life. She's the grand prize winner in HGTV's Dream Home Giveaway.
"I've just gotten past being overwhelmed to being overjoyed...I'm so looking forward to going to that house and actually walking through it."
It's a stunning three-bedroom pueblo-style home perched in the hills outside Sante Fe, New Mexico, with breathtaking views, luxurious furnishings, and top-of-the-line appliances.
The prize is particularly sweet for Lewis. Her home in New Orleans was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and it took her four years to rebuild.
"It just totally devastating and it's taken a long time to get past that trauma."
She dreamed of a new life away from the devastation, and went online every day to enter HGTV's Dream Home Giveaway, as the rules allow.
"[I entered] every single day for seven weeks," she says.
"Did you even imagine in your wildest dreams that you would win?" asks INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney.
"Yeah I did imagine it. I had it in my head and in my heart that I could win it...but I was still totally surprised," Lewis admits.
Lewis won a total prize worth $2 million, which includes the $1.5 million house, a new car, and $500,000 cash.
