Whitney Houston's Unbreakable Bond with Daughter Bobbi Kristina

Whitney Houston leaves behind her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who sometimes took on the role of parent for the troubled star. INSIDE EDITION looks at unbreakable bond.

It was a heart-stopping image of Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, overcome by grief, wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher.

People magazine is reporting that Bobbi Kristina suffered a complete emotional breakdown.

People magazine's Assistant Managing Editor Kate Coyne told INSIDE EDITION, "She was in the lobby of the hotel and she immediately fell apart. She was overheard to be screaming, 'What's wrong with her? What's wrong with her?' Desperate to find out what's wrong with her mother. And that culminated ultimately in a massive anxiety attack."

Mother and daughter had been inseperable. The love between them was evident on the reality show, Being Bobby Brown.

During Houston's comeback tour in 2009, the proud mom wanted to show off her daughter to the world. She called Bobbie Kristina onstage during a concert in New York's Central Park.

Just two days before Houston's tragic death, Bobbi Kristina put a protective arm around her mother during a night of pre-Grammy® partying.

Friends say Bobbi Kristina was "fiercely protective" of her mother, and even acted as the adult in the relationship.

Coyne said, "At times it seemed that the roles were almost being reversed and Bobbi Kristina was a little bit better for wear at the end of a long night out and would have to help Whitney out of a club."

Grammy®-winning songwriter Gordon Chambers worked with Houston and witnessed first-hand the close bond between mother and daughter.

"The tears I've shed were for Bobbi Kristina. There's nothing like a young child at that tender age losing their mother," said Chambers.

As the giants of the music industry mourned Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina spent the night in abject grief. Hopefully, life will go on for Bobbi Kristina, and she'll make her mother proud.
