Mariah Carey and Tyler Perry attended Whitney Houston's emotional funeral. Now, the stars are speaking out about their touching farewell to Houston. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Mariah Carey became emotional remembering her friend Whitney Houston. Carey spoke on Good Morning America about attending Houston's funeral and performing with the troubled star at the 1999 Oscars.
"I'm almost incapable of talking about this still," said Carey. "I don't think people could ever understand our relationship, or really, you know there was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and became friends," said Carey.
Tyler Perry, whose eulogy was one of the standout moments of the funeral, was on The View Tuesday.
"I just spoke from my heart. Wish I didn't have to do it, wish it didn't happen, but I spoke from my heart," said Perry.
There are now incredible scenes at the cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey, where Houston is buried. Police have closed off access due to the crush of fans. Police are monitoring the entrance, only allowing family members inside the cemetery. They say this could be the case for the next month.
"It was getting overloaded in there. There were hundreds and hundreds of cars. There were people with video cameras acting like it's a circus," said one police officer.
Meanwhile, it's been announced that the Blu-ray edition of The Bodyguard, Houston's 1992 movie with Kevin Costner, is set to be released for the first time on March 27.
The movie is also being turned into a musical on the London stage.
