Whitney Houston was part of a moving Oscar® tribute to stars that have passed away this year. Meanwhile, Houston's mother is reportedly going to visit the hotel room where she died. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
Sunday night's Oscars® featured a low key tribute to Whitney Houston.
Unlike the Grammys®, which went to great lengths to mourn thestar, the Academy simply included Houston in the In Memoriam section, along with Elizabeth Taylor, Peter Falk, and other industry figures who died in the last year.
Reaction to the muted Whitney tribute is mixed.
"She is known for being a singer rather than an actress," wrote one blogger.
On the Oscars® own website, a viewer commented, "What? No sound bites, clips or anthing of Whitney? C'mon Academy."
Meanwhile, Houston's mother, Cissy, reportedly plans to make a poignant visit to the hotel room where her daughter died. Seeking closure, Cissy allegedly wants to spend contemplative time alone in room 434 of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
