Justin Bieber's manager was arrested in relation to an appearance at a Long Island mall that got out of control in November 2009. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Fans went wild for teen pop idol Justin Bieber, causing a dangerous stampede at a mall. But could it have been prevented?
According to police, Bieber's manager, Scott Braun, has just been arrested for "intentionally hindering" authorities when they sought to cancel the appearance.
The fan frenzy at a mall on Long Island, New York happened in November of 2009.
After 3,000 Bieber fans raised a ruckus while waiting for the musician to arrive, police say they asked his manager to send an urgent Twitter message that the event had been cancelled. But they say the manager failed to get the word out fast enough and the scene got out of control.
"Craziness happened. I was basically heading over to the mall where I was supposed to be doing a signing. They were not letting me in the building. They threatened to arrest my mom and I," Bieber told Z100.
The pop star's manager was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail.
"You've got my total support," Bieber Tweeted to his manager after the arrest.
Scott Braun has pled not guilty to the charges and was released without bail.
