Ann Romney Fires Back At Democratic Pundit

Ann Romney reacted quickly on Twitter to a Democratic pundit who said she'd never worked a day in her life. INSIDE EDITION has the latest on the controversy.

Don't mess with Ann Romney.

Mitt's wife is firing back Thursday at a Democratic party strategist who says she's not qualified to advise her husband on issues affecting working women because, "She's never worked a day in her life."

Hilary Rosen said, "His wife actually has never worked a day in her life. She's never dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing."

The View's Elisabeth Hasselback was outraged and said, "I think it's terrible that a DNC insider gets out there and marginalizes and discriminates against any woman whether she is home, or working, or has kids."

Even top Democrats blasted Rosen on Twitter, President Obama's campaign manager wrote, "I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize."

Ann Romney herself was so taken aback that she opened a Twitter account and sent out her first tweet: "I made a choice to stay at home and raise 5 boys. Believe me, it was hard work."

Ann, who survived breast cancer and suffers from MS, also spoke out on Fox News.

"Maybe I have not struggled as much finacially as some people have, I can tell you and I promise you, that I've had my struggles in my life," said Ann Romney.

Even Michelle Obama is weighing in on the controversy, coming to the support of stay at home moms with a tweet that said, "Every mother works hard, and every woman deserves to be respected."

Rosen appologized and said, "I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen. As a mom I know that raising children is the hardest job there is. I appologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended."
