INSIDE EDITION went behind-the-scenes of Lifetime's upcoming film, The Jodi Arias Story to see what it's like to film a movie as it's playing out in the headlines.
In a scene from the upcoming TV movie about the sensational Jodi Arias case that plays out exactly how it did in real life, when Arias won an American Idol style talent contest in jail.
INSIDE EDITION’s cameras went behind-the-scenes on the set of the Lifetime movie, The Jodi Arias Story, which is being shot even as the real life drama continues to unfold in court.
Arias is played by actress Tania Raymonde, who bears a striking resemblance to the real Arias.
Raymonde told INSIDE EDITION, “Nobody knows who Jodi really is except Jodi.”
She says she can relate to the convicted killer.
She said, “I know what unrequited love feels like. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love really desperately and I know what it feels like to make a mistake that you regret.”
The cast and crew stopped production to watch live TV as Arias was found guilty of first degree murder last week.
She said, "You're on set with the TV screen and they're announcing verdict right before you're about to shoot a scene as her. It's so strange.”
Raymonde says the movie deals candidly with Arias’ explosive romance with boyfriend Travis Alexander, and it's violent conclusion.
Soap star Jesse Lee Soffer plays Arias’ slain boyfriend. He said, “It is creepy seeing Tania sometimes in the courtroom scenes especially because she really does look like her. It really is creepy.”
