The known photo of Cory Monteith was taken at a restaurant enjoying a quiet night with a lot of laughing just two days before his death. He liked the photo so much, he made it his profile shot on Twitter.
A bright young talent who seemed to have it all, suddenly gone at just 31.
Monteith's Glee co-stars are grief-stricken. Jane Lynch reacted in New York, where she's starring in Annie on Broadway.
"It's awful. I'm so sad," said Lynch.
And Lea Michele, Monteith's love both on and off screen is said to be "absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable" and "devastated beyond belief."
The couple who was said to be secretly engaged, made their final public appearance last month at a charity event in Los Angeles. Monteith's Range Rover is still parked outside Michele's West Hollywood home.
The Canadian-born actor died in a $600-per-night hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver. Fans placed a memorial of flowers and notes outside.

He arrived in Vancouver on Saturday, July 6th, when he was reportedly seen drinking beers with friends outside a store.
Thursday, July 11th, Monteith had dinner at East of Main Cafe with his manager and the co-founder of a children's charity he supported. That is where Monteith's last photo was taken. He reportedly didn't drink alcohol.
Friday, July 12th, Glee director Adam Shankman says he spoke to Monteith by phone.
"He said to me that was feeling amazing and even said, 'I'm feeling fantastic again.'" [Source: CNN]
That night, Monteith and friends partied at two nightclubs, The Roxy and the Queen's Republic. He returned to his hotel alone early Saturday.
At noon, Saturday, July 13th, Monteith missed his checkout time. Hotel staff went to his room and discovered his body.
Monteith had acknowledged a long history of drug and alcohol abuse that started when he was 12. He attended 16 different schools by the time he was 16.
Psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy says, clubbing is risky behavior for a recovering addict like Monteith, who voluntarity checked into rehab just three months ago.
Sophy told INSIDE EDITION, "You think that you're strong and you have your tools, you have your sponsor and you work your program. That still doesn't mean that you're not going to be tempted and then you may give in."
Social media is lighting up with celebrity tributes. Selena Gomez posted a photo, and Glee guest star John Stamos posted another.
