Alijah, who began cutting hair when she was 4 years old, is learning her craft from her father, Franky Hernandez, who owns a barbershop in Houston.
"It makes me feel excited," Alijah told Inside Edition.
While she is years away from getting her professional license, Alijah practices on family and friends at the barbershop, using a stool to help her maneuver.
"I'm very proud, very proud of her," said her dad.
And Alijah isn't alone — her little sister Zariah helps out as well.
"It makes my heart smile," added Franky.
