The latest Time magazine cover and a joke made by MSNBC's Chris Matthews are just some of the jokes about Chris Christie's weight that have some sounding off. INSIDE EDITION has more.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and his wife are the butt of a vulgar fat joke by MSNBC's Chris Matthews.
The host of Hardball was giving a talk in Philadelphia Thursday and was asked about Christie's landslide re-election victory.
Chris Matthews said, "The one I feel for is his wife. Did you just say, 'crush?' I mean, use your imagination," remarked Matthews.
The latest issue of Time magazine has Christie on the cover with the headline: "The Elephant In The Room."
Fox News channel's Greta Van Susteren tweeted: "TIME MAGAZINE EDITOR is SLIMY SNAKE. Elephant, really?"
Bill O'Reilly, host of The O'Reilly Factor, is also blasting the cover, saying, "I think the magazine is on the ropes. It needs attention and that's a way to get it."
The editor of Time, Michael Duffy, defended the cover on Chris Matthews' show.
"He's obviously a big guy. He's obviously a big Republican and he's also done a really huge thing this week," said Duffy.
And Jay Leno had a field day with that 'Elephant' cover, joking, "Here's the other ones they had: 'Chris Christie Have a Whale of a Time.' I didn't like that one. 'Between a Rock and a Lard Place.' Yeah, that's not good. And 'Hail to the Chef.' "
