Before her death from an apparent drug overdose, Nancy Motes lashed out at her half-sister, Julia Roberts, with some hateful tweets. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
It's the hateful message sent by Julia Roberts' troubled half-sister before her death from an apparent drug overdose.
"Just so you all know "America's sweetheart" is a BITCH!!!" Nancy Motes tweeted about her Oscar-winning sibling.
Thirty-seven-year-old Motes was found dead in a bathtub at an upscale home in Brentwood, California, surrounded by both "prescription and non-prescription drugs," according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.
Motes was dog-sitting. She lived in a modest apartment in Santa Monica. The building manager, John Frascati, told INSIDE EDITION that her death was a suicide.
Frascati said, "She didn't have a drug overdose. She had an 'I can't stand my life moment.' This was not an accident. She left a note."
Hear More From Frascati
The coroner's office today confirmed to INSIDE EDITION that a four-page document was discovered near the body.
"It's a note that says something to the effect of, you know, my life with my lover, or my fiance, or whatever terminology you want to use, was magnificent. But everything else about my family sucks," said Frascati.
Nancy Motes set up her Twitter account under the name Nancy Dabbs Dilbeck. Dabbs is her middle name, and Dilbeck is her fiancé's last name. She went on bitter rants against Julia Roberts.
On January 19th, she tweeted: "So my "sister" said that with all her friends & fans she doesn't need anymore love. Just so you all know "America's sweetheart" is a BITCH!!"
She also tweeted: "Do you want to be a fan of someone so cruel? She's not even that good of an actress. Happy you totally (blanked) with me?"
And on January 22, Motes takes even more direct aim at Roberts, and even suggests she's about to take her own life.
She tweeted: "Hey hag! Glad you (blanked) with me yet? You're going to LOVE what's coming! FYI-you're an awful, hate filled old pathetic excuse for a human."
Overnight, the shocking tweets were taken down.
Just six months ago, Motes told the New York Daily News that she was always known as Julia Roberts' "fat little sister" and that Roberts had taunted her about her weight, leading her to undergo gastric bypass surgery. She went from 300 pounds to 155 pounds.
Motes worked as a production assistant on glee. Her wedding registry indicates she was set to marry John Dilbeck in May.
Roberts canceled her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night and was a no-show at the big Oscar luncheon, where her fellow nominees, including Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams and Leonardo DiCaprio posed for the historic photo.
