John Travolta's mispronunciation of Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars is getting attention from comedians everywhere. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
John Travolta's mispronunciation of singer Idina Menzel's name was the flub heard 'round the world and the late-night comics are feasting on it.
David Letterman joked, "Top 10 ways to pronounce Idina Menzel's name. No. 9 Lisa Minzelli."
Arsenio Hall joked, "What the hell was that? Adele Dazeem!"
Jimmy Fallon gagged, "I'm your host, Jimmy Fallon or as John Travolta would call me, ‘Jennel Fa-hair!"
Meanwhile, Travolta’s blunder has actually generated a new verb—“Travoltify: To have your name mangled by a confused, squinting John Travolta." There's even an animated version of Travolta’s goof.
This escapade is casting a spotlight on the career of Idina Menzel, best known for her role as Lea Michele’s mom in Glee, and for her Tony-award winning performance as the Wicked Witch in Wicked.
But apparently, Travolta's mangling of her name didn't bother her. Some observers noted she was slightly taken aback at the begining of her performance. After the Oscars she tweeted: "Still pinching myself over my entire Oscars experience. Dream Come True."
In other words, instead of getting mad at Travolta, it seems she has decided to "let it go."
