First lady Michelle Obama stepped in to clarify the president’s remark that the White House pastry chef’s pies are so irresistible, they may have "crack" in them. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
It happened during a ceremony at the White House. The president was paying tribute to White House pastry chef Bill Yosses, who is leaving after seven years.
President Obama said, "We call Bill the crust master because, his pies, I don't know what he does, whether he puts crack in them or..."
There were big laughs, but the first lady thought the joke needed clarification.
First lady Michelle Obama elaborated, "No, he didn't. There is no crack in our pies."
On the Today show Tameron Hall said, "I love that that's such a spouse moment. She realizes that he said something and she's like 'Let me tidy this up right now.'"
Bill Yosses was hired by former first lady Laura Bush. He had such a good reputation, he was kept on when the Obama's moved into the White House. Yosses has said that the first lady's healthier eating initiatives had nothing to do with his leaving.
The president said, "We had to establish like a really firm rule about no pie during the week."
Sounds as if the president will really miss those pies.
