Ice Bucket Backlash! Why Is This Celebrity Boycotting The Challenge?

Pamela Anderson is one celebrity boycotting the Ice Bucket Challenge. INSIDE EDITION found why she and some others are staying dry.

Pam Anderson caused a firestorm of controversy after saying enough already with the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been sweeping the nation with celebrities and regular folks raising a mind-blowing $41.8 million and counting for research into ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

But Anderson said, hold on everybody!

Anderson posted a picture on Facebook, with a "Stop Animal Testing" poster. She claimed ALS researchers experimented on animals. She wrote, "Trying to cure human disease by relying on outdated and ineffective animal experiments isn't only cruel-it's a grave disservice to people who desperately need cures."

While some of Anderson's followers supported her, many bashed her. One wrote, "Valuing animal life above human life is a vacuous, idiotic, and immoral cause."

The latest celebrity to take the challenge was actress Anne Hathaway, who did it in her shower.

But some challenges have ended in mishaps. No one was injured in those challenges, but who could ever imagine one could end in disaster?

But an Ice Bucket Challenge at a university in Kentucky went horribly wrong. Four Firefighters were electrocuted when their ladder hit power lines while they were helping students at Campbellsville University take the challenge. One firefighter remains in critical condition.

Despite the accident, and Anderson's complaints, the Ice Bucket Challenge shows no sign of slowing down.
