Beyoncé reigned supreme at the MTV Video Music Awards, with the singer closing the show with a super-charged 20-minute performance.

Blue Ivy came to the stage in the arms of with her dad, Jay Z, to present Beyoncé with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for lifetime achievement, putting to rest, at least for now, all the rumors of trouble in the marriage.
Beyonce said, “I love ya'll so much. Blue, Blue, I love you, my beloved, I love you."
As usual, the show was jammed with big performances and utterly crazy moments, led by the audacious Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj's newly released video is causing quite the firestorm and now she's bringing the drama to the VMA stage with her racy performance. Many are calling "Too-Hot-For-TV."
As promised, Minaj delivered a raunchy rendition of her new song, "Anaconda,” where booty ruled. The provocative performance stunned many in the audience, and there was more to come. Just minutes later, she came out with her dress opened, baring her toned tummy.
She struggled to hold her outfit together during her performance of "Bang Bang" with Arianna Grande and Jessie J.
So, what happened? She told reporters, "We ran out of time getting the dressed zipped up."
Well, that's her story and she's sticking to it. Others may see it as the most calculated wardrobe malfunction ever. She sure got people talking.
Miley Cyrus flashed peace signs to fans out on the red carpet and on the show she got a lot of attention by basically doing nothing. No repeat of her wild twerking performance from last year's show.
Instead of taking to the stage to accept her award for “Video of the Year” for “Wrecking Ball,” she sent a homeless teen, who said, “I’m accepting award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth.”
Cyrus was in the crowd with tears streaming down her face.
Bad boy singer Chris Brown walked the red carpet, looking none the worse for wear following Sunday morning's wild shoot-em-up at a pre-VMA party he hosted at the trendy hotspot 1Oak.
Rap music mogul Suge Knight was shot multiple times in the stomach. Some say Brown was the intended target. There was the chaotic scene inside the club. In video of the incident, party-goers can be seen racing out the exit door with their hands up.
A statement from his rep said, "This incident did not involve Chris. He has and will continue to cooperate with the investigation."
Brown later tweeted, "It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes."
Skin and sparkle ruled the red carpet at the VMA’s. Jennifer Lopez showed lots of both in a thigh high cut-out dress, she even took time to high five the crowd.
Kim Kardashian stepped out in a miniskirt with a matching cape and plunging neckline.
Taylor Swift showed lots of leg on stage and off. Before the show she hit the red carpet in a long sleeve romper.
The show took a serious turn as rapper Common led the audience in a moment of silence in memory of Ferguson, Missouri, shooting victim Mike Brown, saying, “I want us all to take a moment of silence for Mike Brown.”
There was also a brief, a very brief, tribute to Robin Williams, the total running time was 20 seconds.
But the night truly belonged to Beyoncé and little Blue Ivy.
