Basketball star John Wall got emotional after he learned about the death of a little girl who lost her battle with cancer. INSIDE EDITION has the heartbreaking story.
Basketball star John Wall broke down in tears after a game.
A commentator asked him in a post-game interview, "You are never like this, she really touched your heart, didn't she?" Wall shook his head.
The Washington Wizards player just learned about the death of an adorable little girl who had won the heart of the gentle giant during her battle with cancer.
John Wall met six-year-old Miyah Telemaque-Nelson 10 months ago after she'd been diagnosed with a rare type of lymphoma.
She lost her hair to chemotherapy and her dream was to wear a special wig. She said, “I want to meet Nicki Minaj and I want to wear her pink wig.”
With Wall's help, Miyah's dream came true and she met Minaj and wore the pink wig. Minaj had these words for the young girl, "I am so happy that you got your pink wig. I think you are beautiful without the pink wig."
Happy moments for a little girl burdened with a bleak future.
Sadly, she lost her battle on Monday. Wall dedicated the game against the Celtics to his little friend. The Wizards won in double overtime, with Wall playing one of his best games ever.
Wall said, "It is a tough day for me. I really cried today."
And this from Minaj: "I can't believe this little angel is gone."
