'The View's Deafening Silence On Rosie O'Donnell Leaving The Show

Rosie O’Donnell is leaving her post at The View, but you wouldn’t know it from the show that made no mention of her departure. INSIDE EDITION has more.

Not a peep from Rosie O'Donnell on The View Monday about her big announcement that she's leaving the show.

Rosie said it's because of stress and her split from her wife of three years.

But, is there more to the story?

Variety is reporting that there was major tension with Whoopi Goldberg, with Rosie furious that Whoopi was "dismissive of opposing viewpoints during some of the show's key debates," like the one over the Bill Cosby scandal.

Rosie was also said to be upset that ABC executives asked her to look "happier on air."

Mary Murphy, Senior Lecturer of the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, told INSIDE EDITION, "Rosie O'Donnell has never liked anyone telling her what to do and, of course, she'd proved how successful and good she is at hosting by not listening to other people. So, I don't think she wanted to listen to news executives."

On Sunday, Rosie posted this quote to Twitter: "Many of the problems that arise in life are due to our having said 'yes' in situations where we should have said 'no,'" a clear reference to her decision to return to The View last September.

She lasted exactly six months.
