She's the first of her kind born in the UK.
A baby's first steps are a momentous occasion for mother and child alike, and the same is true in the animal kingdom.
A sun bear cub, the first of its species ever born in the United Kingdom, proudly pranced alongside her mama recently at the Chester Zoo.
The as yet unnamed cub made her public debut this week when she took her first stroll out of the family's den.
"The moment we've all been waiting for...." the zoo wrote on Facebook. "A special little sun bear cub takes HER very first steps!"
The cub was born 12 weeks ago to mother Mili and father Toni, both of which were rescued from poachers in Cambodia when they were also cubs.
The sun bear is to South East Asia, where they are listed as vulnerable to extinction in the wild by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
